Next Community Paint Session: May 21

Attention Tacony residents: We are taking Torresdale Avenue and transforming it into Storydale Avenue! Want to get involved? Our next Community Paint session will be held on May 21, 3-5 PM in Disston Park (the corner of Longshore and Keystone). Join us and the artist Mat Tomezsko as we continue to paint the stories of Tacony for a Community Still Life Project!

Throughout this Spring, we've been collecting stories about the neighborhood and what it means to Tacony's residents and visitors. These stories will be painted and compiled into a series of temporarily installed murals at multiple locations along Torresdale Avenue, with three large, central compositions containing all the objects from our stories in a classical arrangement, as well as several small, individual objects installed throughout the community. If you've answered any of our questions at in-person events or on Facebook, then you've already been a part of the public art design process in Tacony! But if you'd like to stay involved, Community Paint is the way to do it!

Our next Community Paint Sessions will be held on May 21, June 3, and July 26th. Plus, keep your eyes peeled for an exciting opening ceremony on October 11th!
