The Tacony CDC kicked off the winter holiday season with our Winter Wander this past Tuesday! We had a blast celebrating both our business decorating contest and raffle winners, selling new (and discounted old!) Tacony merch, offering free pictures with Santa to families and their pets, and having Thunder Mug Café there to showcase some of their goodies to the community!
368 residents and visitors voted at 9 participating businesses to declare the Best Decorated business this Winter Season. And the winner was: Bread Crumbs Bakery! Congratulations to Bread Crumbs, who received $100 from the Tacony CDC as a prize. Out of those 368, one lucky voter won an additional $100 check from the Tacony CDC. Our special guest, Santa Claus, pulled Eileen Carey’s name out of the Christmas Bucket! Congratulations to both Breadcrumbs Bakery and Eileen on their victories!
Our pop-up shop was a huge hit! Supporters came out to purchase new items such as our “A Cut Above” long-sleeve tees, embroidered hats, and mugs. Thank you to everyone who came out to shop for themselves or for the fellow Tacony lovers in their lives! In case you missed it, items are still available. We’ve set up an online shop where you can purchase merchandise and arrange for pickup at our office, located at 4819 Longshore Avenue, Unit C. Thank you so much to Lizette and Brandon of Thunder Mug Café for coming out to spend some time with us before your grand opening in the new year! Thunder Mug graced us with some yummy baked goods and delicious hot coffee during our Winter Wander Event, helping to create that cozy holiday atmosphere!
A huge thank you to Georgeanne at Marie Huff Hairdressing for hosting our event, it would not have been possible without all of your help! Another thanks to the nine businesses who participated in our contest: Bread Crumbs Bakery, Marie Huff Hairdressing, Bull's Eye Darts, Jack's Place, Curran's Irish Inn - Tacony, House of Bling, Sophie's Bridal, Awesome Little Cupcakes, and the Tacony LAB Community Art Center.
