The Tacony CDC had a blast at the 2025 Main Street Now Conference! This year we were lucky enough for the conference to be hosted right here in Philadelphia! From April 7th to 9th, over two-thousand place-making leaders from across the country (and the world) came together to take part in 100+ dynamic educational sessions and 24 mobile workshops.
Tacony even got to host a tour of the neighborhood to some of the conference attendees! The tours were led by our Executive Director, Xhulio, and Corridor Manager, Amarynth–they both did an excellent job delivering informational and engaging tours to our 35 attendees. Our Tacony tourists loved them and the neighborhood! Thank you to Lizette from Thunder Mug Café for catering and hosting us in the space, we can’t wait for your opening so soon!
Xhulio, Amarynth, our Communications Specialist, Nicole, Project Consultant, Ashley, and Board Member, Rachel all attended the conference. We all learned so much! It was great to be able to attend multiple panels and engage in numerous conversations that helped us to gain more knowledge and connections that we can use to grow the success of Tacony.
Amarynth said, “The best part of the conference for me is always meeting new people from all over the country with roles similar to my own. We don’t all have the same title and our work isn’t always going to be exactly the same, but hearing the experiences from other places reminds me that we aren’t alone and helps me to come up with new ideas!”
Nicole’s favorite part of the conference was learning about community storytelling. She said, “Going to different panels and learning more about community outreach and garnering more engagement from community members was so insightful, I can’t wait to bring these ideas to Tacony and hopefully increase our own visibility!”
Ashley had a great time attending her discussions, she said, “I learned so much about community-centered real estate development and assessing organizational capacity. It was a great conference!”
Thank you to Main Street Now and all of their partners who helped to put on this conference, and allowed Tacony to give a tour of our neighborhood! We’re proud to be a Main Street America neighborhood!
