As the weather warms up and we approach the start of Summer, Tacony is really coming alive with community events! Just this week, we were excited to attend the Tacony Historical Society Spring Meeting on May 13th and get an update on their projects (big things coming to Disston Park soon!), followed by a Job Fair hosted at the Tacony Library on May 14th. Both of these events saw great turnout; it's always exciting to see people of all ages interested in learning about and improving the Tacony neighborhood! Even more events are popping up in Tacony in the next few weeks, read on for more details.
Community Paint at Russo Park, May 17th 5-7 PM
Assist Mural Arts Tacony LAB in contributing to the "Mural Capital of The World" with a Community Paint hosted at Russo Park on Friday! This newest mural will be going up on the Code Court Building at Russo Park, located at 7374 Edmund Street. The free event is open to all ages and skill levels (children must be with an adult) and will include pizza and refreshments.
Community Resource Fair at Hope Hall, May 18th 12-3 PM
Visit Hope Hall at 7212 Keystone Street this Saturday for a free Community Resource Fair hosted by the Star of Hope Baptist Church and sponsored by Angels Are Us and SWAG Ministries. Come for community resources from organizations like NESTco, CareerLink, and AARP --stay for the face painting and bouncy house!

Community Paint Day at Disston Park, May 21st 3-5 PM
Join the Tacony Community Development Corporation and artist Mat Tomezsko to tell your stories about Tacony and paint the images that will be installed as murals along Torresdale Avenue! Find us in Disston Park, at the corner of Longshore and Keystone, where refreshments will be available. This is a free event open to all ages and skill levels. Volunteer hours are available for teens!
Community Yoga Class at Vogt Recreation Center, May 21st 6:30-7:30 PM

Featuring make and take activities and historic images from the Tacony neighborhood provided by the Historical Society of Tacony.
