Outdoor Events in Tacony: PARKing Day, Third Thursday, and more!

Something about the end of the Summer has us looking for some last minute things to do outside! Luckily, Tacony has got you covered. Check out the list below for some activities to get your fun in the sun this month, and don't forget to check back for our Fall events. We've got something really exciting planned for October!

Unorthodox Yoga for All Ages

September 13th, Lardner's Point Park, 6pm to 7pm

Get your zen on with an outdoor flow led by an experienced instructor! This is a free event open to all ages; a thick mat or a blanket is recommended. 

Learn to Fish

September 14th, Lardner's Point Park, 5pm to 7pm

Learn how to fish - For FREE! Rods, tackle, bait and basic instruction will be provided. No fishing license necessary; state license requirements are waived for these events.

PARKing Day Philadelphia

September 15th, 6918 Torresdale Avenue, 10am to 5pm

Every year, the number of parks in Philadelphia increases as organizations, artists, businesses, and other creatives come together to turn parking spots into parklets. This year, the Tacony Community Development Corporation is partnering with the Tacony LAB Community Arts Center to create an outdoor space right on Torresdale Avenue. Stop by anytime to hang out, have some refreshments, make a craft, and find out how to nominate Tacony for the People's Choice Awards!

Tacony is Better Together Music Festival

September 16th, 6501 New State Road, 12pm to 7pm

Join the Tacony Civic Association for an unforgettable day of music, fun, and community at the Tacony Is Better Together Music Festival hosted at MAST Community Charter School II. Featuring live music from artists such as Modern Yesterday and The Kramer Brothers. Indulge in delicious food from various vendors, explore unique arts and crafts stalls, and connect with fellow music enthusiasts.

Connecting Tacony to the Delaware Riverfront

September 17th, Tacony Regional Rail Station, 10am

Join Riverfront North Partnership and Feet First Philly for a walk exploring Tacony via the K&T Trail! Meet at the Tacony Regional Rail Station in Disston Park to learn about our historic neighborhood and discuss how we can better connect it to the Delaware Riverfront.

Kids' Nature Storytime

September 18th, Lardner's Point Park, 11am to 12pm

Join Riverfront North Partnership and the Tacony Free Library for a free outdoor nature story time along the river at Lardner's Point Park. Bring your own chairs or blankets and expect stories, singing, dancing, and laughing for your little ones!

Tacony Third Thursday

Join us for a monthly Third Thursday event featuring live music, fresh bread and produce, local vendors, kids activities, and more! This month featuring music from Yeet!, a poptimistic band straight out of West Philly.
