Pharmacy Options for Tacony Residents

This week, the Rite Aid Pharmacy located at Torresdale and Levick was permanently closed. For many in the Tacony neighborhood, this was the most easily accessible pharmacy. In the wake of its loss the Tacony Community Development Corporation would like to help connect our residents to other convenient options to ensure no one loses access to medication. Although Rite Aid was the closest for most of us, there are other pharmacies within walking distance, as well as free and paid delivery options.

Delivery

Holmesburg Pharmacy
Located at 8039 Frankford Ave, Holmesburg Pharmacy is open Monday through Friday 8:30-5:30 and on Saturdays from 8:30-2:30. They offer free delivery to the entire Philadelphia area every day between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. and can be contacted by phone at 215-332-2400.

Pharmacy of America
With locations all over Philadelphia, Pharmacy of America is able to offer free delivery throughout the city. The closest location to Tacony is at 7522 Frankford Ave and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00-8:00, Saturday from 9:00-6:00, and Sundays from 9:00-3:00. Rite Aid
Rite Aid prescription delivery services are offered at all locations, the nearest one to us is located at 6363 Frankford Ave and the pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 10:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 5:00. In some cases, Rite Aid’s delivery services are free. Customers should contact the pharmacy at 215-335-4882 to determine eligibility for free delivery.

CVS
CVS offers 1-2 day prescription delivery service to CVS members from most locations. Some insurance providers will cover the delivery fee. The closest location to Tacony is at 8525 Frankford Avenue. The pharmacy is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 to 9:00 and Sunday from 9:00 to 8:00. Their website has instructions for becoming a CVS member and requesting delivery.

Walgreens
Walgreens provides same-day prescription delivery services for a fee or 1-2 day delivery for free. These services can be accessed by signing up for alerts.
