On Friday, June 7th the Mural Arts Tacony LAB Community Arts Center is partnering with the Historical Society of Tacony and the Tacony CDC to host a very special First Friday event themed around the history of Tacony.
In addition to historic images of Tacony and a slideshow, the event will feature make-and-take activities for all ages and historic displays. The Tacony neighborhood has a long history, beginning with the Lenni Lenape Tribe from which it gets its name, and stretching through Swedish and English colonization into the industrial era as a shining example of the Victorian Paternalistic Society. For centuries, our neighborhood has been a place known for innovation and beauty. It's time to celebrate that history!
The event will take place on June 7th from 6PM to 9PM at the Tacony LAB, 6918 Torresdale Avenue.
